Josh Gates Live! An Evening of Ghosts, Monsters, & Tales Adventure Review

Go away Often! As fans Expedition Unknown, Destination Truth and all things Josh Gates, we were excited to have the opportunity to go see his show live in our hometown of San Diego at the historic Balboa Theater. Not knowing what to expect, we had read lots of great reviews and a small amount of not so great reviews about his live show being essentially an extended advertisement of his two main TV gigs. While we can see some people interpreting that based on the format of the live show, we found that it was the complete opposite. While it definitely helped that we were well versed fans of his, Josh did joke about how there were most likely people in his audience who were not familiar with him or his shows. The live show consisted of Josh telling stories about his travels, his experiences in working on both of his main TV shows, an extended audience Q&A period at the end (see our video below), and how he basically fell into the greatest job in the show business. Overall we found his show to be funny, highly motivating to get off the couch, travel, and to challenge yourself to think outside of the box and go see what is out there in this big and ever changing world. We highly recommend attending this show if he makes his way into your area.
