This week we are looking to add a new mic to the mix. So far we have been relying on a combination of a reliable but limited Shure SM57 and the camera mic to record audio for our productions. SM57's are great but are mainly used to record instruments and studio vocal/voiceover work...although they have been used extensively in news-reporting. We are looking at a couple of mics and headphones to provide us with more flexibility and to improve the overall quality of sound in our work. Here is an interesting link we found about shotgun mics.
